A fox and an ant decided to become friends and together they sowed some wheat. Every day the sly fox complained either of a stomachache or of a headache and went to the pasture to treat himself to some nice mare's milk. So the ant worked alone from morning till evening, watering the field and weeding it. At last the wheat was ripe. The fox saw that the threshing-floor was full of husked grain and decided to deceive the ant and take all the grain. “My dear friend,” he said to the ant, “why shouldn't we divide all that grain? Or better let us race. Whoever is the first to reach the threshing-floor should have all the grain. OK?” The ant thought a while and agreed. So they stood beside each other. “Ready... set... go!” the fox shouted and ran towards the threshing-floor. He raised his tail, laid back his ears and ran for all he was worth. But the ant didn't waste time at all: he had clung to the fox's tail. The fox reached the threshing-floor and shook his tail happily. The ant was thrown to the side. He crawled onto the heap of grain and shouted from there, “Hey, Fox! Why are you so late?” The fox was at a loss what to say. “When did you get here?” he asked. “A long time ago. I've already had a rest, but you seem to be out of breath.” So the fox was defeated. He was unable to think up a new trick and went away. The ant carried all the grain into his barn and lived happily thereafter. He had enough to eat. But the lazy fox went about hungry the whole winter.狐狸和蚂蚁
一只狐狸与一只蚂蚁决定结为朋友，并一起种下了麦子。狡猾的狐狸每天不是抱怨自己胃痛就是抱怨自己头疼，然后溜到牧场去饱饮一顿马奶。 于是蚂蚁从早到晚在田里辛勤劳作，浇水、除草。 麦子终于成熟了。 狐狸看到打谷场上堆满了金灿灿的麦粒，便打定主意去欺骗蚂蚁，想把所有的粮食都弄到自己的手里。 他对蚂蚁说：“我亲爱的朋友，我们为什么不把粮食分了呢？或者我们最好来个赛跑，谁先跑到打谷场，谁就拥有所有的粮食。” 蚂蚁思考了片刻，便同意了。他们并排站好。 “预备……跑！”狐狸高声喊着口令，向打谷场飞奔过去。 他抬起尾巴，双耳紧贴后背，拼命往前跑。不过，蚂蚁也没有浪费时间：他紧紧粘在狐狸的尾巴上。狐狸跑到了打谷场，高兴地摇晃着尾巴。蚂蚁被甩到了一边，他迅速爬上粮堆，大声嚷道：“喂，狐狸！你怎么姗姗来迟啊？” 狐狸一时感到不知所措。他问道：“你什么时候到这的？” “我到了好一会了，都歇一气了。可是你看上去却气喘吁吁的。” 狐狸的诡计破产了。他无法再想出新的花招来，就讪讪地溜走了。 蚂蚁把所有的粮食都运进了谷仓，从此他拥有了充足的食物，也过上了快乐的生活。而懒惰的狐狸这一冬天都要饥肠辘辘地到处乱窜了。 打印本文 关闭窗口
