III. M: What are we going to do this weekend?

W: Do you have any good ideas? M: No, not really. I just thought it might be fun to do something new.

W: Doing something for a change, you mean?

M: Yes, something different. I need a change.

W: I usually go shopping and have my hair done during the weekend and you usually watch the football games on TV.

M: Yes, you often have tea with your friends. And I sometimes play cards with my friends. We seldom do something together.

W: Now I've got an idea. Autumn is the best season in Beijing. Why don't we go for a picnic this weekend? You'll invite your friends and I'll invite mine. We'll go together.

M: Good idea! Let's call our friends and ask them to go with us.

W: OK. I'm sure we'll have a good time together.

(11—15 TTFTF)

IV. Many of us think that all wild animals are dangerous. In fact, few of them will eat a man if he leaves them alone. If you meet a tiger, I'm sure you will run away, but even a tiger doesn't like meeting a man if it's hungry. Tigers only kill and eat a man when they are too old to catch their food, such as sheep and other small animals. Some animals get frightened when they only smell a man. Some of them stand and look at a man for a short time before they run away. Wild animals only eat a man when they are afraid that he will kill their babies, or when he tries to kill them.

A. 51—55 CCBCC 56—60 CCBAC 61—65 BCBAA

51. C。由Nancy spoke in such a low voice可知表示否定意义,故选C。52. C。 65. A。

B. 66. to get to know 67. is friendly to 68. To, surprise 69. to make a plan for 70. got, out of 71. fell to 72. pushed, away 73. giving a warm welcome to 74. no more than 75. believe in

C. 76. Jim was drawing on the blackboard when the teacher came into the classroom.

77. Grandpa was reading the newspaper when I got home.

78. We were watching TV at home when it rained yesterday morning.

79. Her mother was cooking supper when the telephone rang.

80. What were you doing at 8 o'clock last night?

Part Four.

A. 81. D。 82. A

85. C。由“He had spent nearly a week riding a bike slowly round the seaside...” 86. A。 88. B。由上文 ... find not only his bike and the tent pole gone but also the tent and all his clothes. 89. D。have to 表示“不得不”。90. A

B. (I) 91—95 CCADB

(II) 96—100 CBDDB

(III) 101—105 DACAA

C. One possible version:

Manchurian tigers are from forests and mountains in Northeast China. They are reddish tan, and striped. There are only about 10—20 wild ones and 500 in the zoos. An adult Manchurian tiger is over 1 metre tall, 2.2 metres long and its weight is 160—290kg. They usually eat small animals—rabbits, deer and so on. Manchurian tigers are now in danger because some people kill them for their fur.
