| 同学们也许知道，全国中学生英语能力竞赛试题中的书面表达与高考英语的书面表达无论是形式上或要求上均有较大差别。最明显的特征即是，全国中学生英语能力竞赛书面表达要求考生必须写两篇作文，即A、B部分。其中A部分是情景作文，B部分则为开放作文；另一个不同即是竞赛试题的写作要求全部运用英文进行提示。由于B部分占20分，可见这一部分写作的好坏，很大程度上决定着整个竞赛的成败。
一般说来，B部分是一篇开放作文。即给出一段文字，或一幅图画，要求考生针对所给文字或图画完成某一特定的写作任务，通常是要求考生解决一个实际问题，或讨论一个热点话题。《英语辅导报》及《英语通》常常会提供一些模拟试题，供同学们演练或欣赏，这是一个熟悉题型，了解命题思路、掌握写作技巧的极佳机会。
下面结合最新竞赛题型B部分写作要领点拨如下：
写作(Writing) (B题，满分20分)
B） You are an editor and receive a letter like this from a boy, Bob.
My family is wealthy, but I never feel happy because my parents don't allow me to spend money on my own. Besides, they make me study all the time even on holidays. I have many friends, but I feel lonely. I'm seldom allowed to go out to play with my friends. How terrible my life is!...
Write to him and suggest what he should do in 120—150 words in an appropriate style. (20分)
【点拨】 此题可分三步走：
1. 细审题、明要求 这一步也叫审题，是写作的关键。任何写作都离不开审题，审题质量的高低直接影响到对文章要点的把握程度。另外，务必弄清答题要求，以免写跑题。
2. 定文体、列要点 本题体裁是书信，要点主要是提建议：简述自己类似经历；多与父母沟通；合理用钱；理解父母；好好学习，取得进步。
3. 巧构思、活用词 这一步的任务即是理清思路，将语句整合成篇，使文章结构紧凑、语言生动、富有感染力和说服力。

Dear Bob,
I've read you letter and know how you are feeling now. As a matter of fact, I had the same experience you're having today. But after I talked to my parents several times, they changed their attitudes towards me. I believe what you need is to communicate more with your parents. So why not talk to them and persuade them that you are old enough to manage your own business? And they will trust you if you use your money in a proper way. Meanwhile, put yourself in their position, and you will understand them better.
It is for your future that they make you study all the time. Don't you think that all parents love their children? If you work hard and make some progress in your studies, you will enjoy more freedom and happiness.
