| 1. She is ill. 她生病了。（P14）
be ill指生病 ，在美式英语中常用be sick。
She is ill. = She is sick.
2. Su Yang calls her after lunch. 午饭后苏扬打电话给她。（P14）
1） call her 意思是“打电话给她”，call的意思是“打电话”。
2） call还可以指“称呼；叫”。
如：Do you call that a hat? 你把那个叫做帽子吗？
3. Hello, may I speak to Helen? 你好，我可以和海伦通话吗？（P14）
speak to Helen 意思是“和海伦说话”。speak to sb. 指“与某人说话”。
如果打电话时你想与某人通话，可以礼貌地说：“Hello, may I speak to sb.?”
4. Why are you absent today? 你今天为什么不来上学？ （P14）
be absent 意思是“缺席”。如：
Who is absent? 谁没来？
5. I'm staying in bed. 我正待在床上。（P14）
stay in bed意思是“待在床上”。如：
The doctor told me to stay in bed. 医生告诉我要卧床休息。
6. What's wrong with you? 你什么地方不舒服？（P14）
1） 这句话还可以这样问“What's the matter （with you）?”
2） wrong 本意是“错误的”。如：We got into the wrong train. 我们搭错了火车。
7． I've got a headache and a bad cough. 我头疼还伴有严重的咳嗽。（P14）
a bad cough意思是“严重的咳嗽”，bad 原意是“坏的”。如：
It's bad to steal. 意思是“偷窃是坏事。”而在这里bad意思是“严重的”。
8. I'm sorry to hear that.听到这个消息，我很难过。（P14）
通常用于对别人生病的问候。如：
—I've got a headache.
—I'm sorry to hear that.
9. I hope you get better soon.我希望你不久就能康复。（P14）
1） hope 希望
2） get better意思是“变好些”。get “变成，变得”如：get tired感到疲倦，get wet变得潮湿。
10. How do you feel now? 你现在感觉怎么样？（P15）
用于对病人病情的询问。如：
—How do you feel now?
—Much better.
11. Are you taking any medicine? 你在服药吗？（P15）
take some medicine 意思是“服药”。在一般疑问句中将“some”改成“any”。
12. Classes are over. 下课了/放学了。（P15）
be over意为“结束”。
13. I can get some fruit for you. 我会给你带点水果来。（P15）
get 意思是“得到，购买”。for sb. “给某人”，sb.如用人称代词时，需要用它的宾格形式。如：for him “给他”，for them “给他们”，for us “给我们”。
14. Take some medicine and have a lot of rest. 吃点药，多休息。（P19）
have a rest意思是“休息”，a lot of “很多，许多”，have a lot of rest则是“多休息”。 |
